Former U.S. President Donald Trump is being arraigned on charges related to a hush money payment to adult film star Stormy Daniels

The case against Trump has been criticized by legal experts for being weak, and Trump has described it as a "witch hunt".

Trump is expected to plead not guilty to the charges and deliver remarks from his Mar-a-Lago home in Florida at 8:15 p.m. on Tuesday.

The speech is seen as important for the future of Trump's 2024 presidential campaign, and his former campaign manager has urged him to focus on his plans for the future

However, there are concerns that Trump may go off-script and make controversial remarks about the case and the prosecutor.

If a gag order is imposed by the judge, Trump may be limited in what he can say about the case during the speech.

The grand jury investigating the hush money payments was also reportedly looking into payments made to former Playboy model Karen McDougal.

Prosecutors must prove that Trump had an "intent to defraud" to prove he falsified business records in connection with the payments.

Trump's campaign has reportedly raised $7 million since the announcement of the indictment.
